MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
1. Stop engine and remove key from ignition.
2. Open the right-hand (cab-forward) maintenance
platform. Refer to
5.3.1 Opening Platforms (Standard
Position), page 309
.
3. Ensure the battery switch (A) is turned to the POWER
OFF position (the battery switch is located on the
right-hand frame rail beside the batteries).
4. Remove the cable ties securing the battery cables to
the battery clamps.
IMPORTANT:
Batteries are negative grounded
. Always
connect red starter cables to the positive (+)
terminals of the batteries and black ground
cables to the negative (-) terminals of the
batteries. Reversed polarity in the batteries or
alternator may result in permanent damage to
the electrical system.

5. Remove the plastic caps from the battery posts.
6. Attach the red positive (+) cable terminals to the
positive posts (A) on the batteries and tighten clamps.
Reposition plastic covers onto clamps.
7. Attach the black negative (-) cable terminals to the
negative posts (B) on the batteries and tighten clamps.
Reposition plastic covers onto clamps.
8. Turn the battery switch to the POWER ON position.

Aligning Headlights
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of the machine, always stop the engine and remove
the key from the ignition before leaving the operator’s seat for any reason.
NOTE:
Header should be attached and raised to maintain proper windrower stance.
