hints, tips, and new device drivers or to submit a request for information.

5. Replace the power supply if the system-error LED on the operator information
panel is still lit.
The system-error LED on the

is lit and the Pwr rail B error
has been recorded in the IMM
event log.
1. Disconnect the server power cords.
2. (Trained technician only) remove microprocessor 2 if Pwr rail B error has been
recorded in the IMM event log.
3. Restart the server. If the Pwr rail B error has been recorded in the IMM event log
again, (trained technician only) replace the system board (see “Removing the
system board” on page 296 and “Replacing the system board” on page 298).
4. Reinstall the component; then, restarting the server. If the Pwr rail B error
has been recorded in the IMM event log again, the component that you just
reinstalled is defective. Replace the defective component.
• (Trained technician only) Microprocessor 2 (see “Removing a microprocessor
and heat sink” on page 282 and “Replacing a microprocessor and heat sink”
on page 287).

IMM2 event log:
• Optional adapter (if one is present) installed in PCI riser-card assembly 1
or HDD/ServerRAID-H1110 (if they are present) installed in the rear two
hard-disk-drive kit
• PCI riser-card assembly 1 or rear two hard-disk-drive kit
• Fan 1
• DIMMs 1 through 6
3. Restart the server. If the Pwr rail C error has been recorded in the IMM event log
again, (trained technician only) replace the system board (see “Removing the
system board” on page 296 and “Replacing the system board” on page 298).
4. Reinstall the components one at a time, in the order shown, restarting the
server each time. If the Pwr rail C error has been recorded in the IMM event
log again, the component that you just reinstalled is defective. Replace the
defective component.
• DIMMs 1 through 6 (see “Removing a memory module” on page 214 and
“Installing a memory module” on page 43).
• Fan 1
• PCI riser-card assembly 1 (see “Removing a PCI riser-card assembly” on
page 221 and “Replacing a PCI riser-card assembly” on page 222) or rear
two hard-disk-drive kit (see “Removing the rear two hard-disk-drive kit” on
page 224 and “Replacing the rear two hard-disk-drive kit” on page 225.
• Optional adapter (if one is present) installed in PCI riser-card assembly 1 (see
“Removing an adapter” on page 226 and “Replacing an adapter” on page
