Power Saver Mode
The machine is equipped with the Power Saver mode that reduces the power consumption
by saving the electricity to the machine when no copy or print data is received for a specified
time.
The Power Saver has two modes: the Low Power mode and the Sleep mode.
When you do not use the machine for a specified period of time, the machine enters the Low
Power mode.
When time exceeds the time specified in the Low Power mode, the machine then enters the
Sleep mode.
Low Power Mode
In this mode, the power to the control panel and fusing unit is lowered to save power.
The touch screen goes out, and the <Power Saver> button on the control panel lights up. To
use the machine, press the <Power Saver> button. The <Power Saver> button goes out to
indicate that the Power Saver feature is exited.
Sleep Mode
In this mode, the power is lowered more than in the Low Power mode.
The touch screen goes out, and the <Power Saver> button on the control panel lights up. To
use the machine, press the <Power Saver> button. The <Power Saver> button goes out to
indicate that the Power Saver feature is exited.
The Sleep mode requires more time for the machine to exit and to be ready for use than the
Low Power mode.
Note
•
When the option is connected to the machine and operated as the following, the Low Power mode is
exited automatically without pressing the <Power Saver> button. This automatic exiting is not
available when the machine enters the Sleep mode. To use the automatic exiting, set a greater
difference to the Sleeping mode and the Low Power mode entering time. For information on
changing time to enter each mode, refer to "Changing the Interval for Entering Power Saver Mode"
(P.71).
- Touch the IC Card Reader (sold separately) with a card.
•
When the machine enters the Low Power mode while a user is authenticated, the machine exits the
authentication mode.
