be ON and D1130 = 2; for COM1, M1315 = ON and D1250 = 3, for COM3, M1319 = ON
and D1253 = 3.
7.
S
: Starting internal address to store the read message reply or to store data to be written to the
external device. This is the starting address of read replies if the MODRW instruction is
sending a read command, or it’s the starting address containing the data to be sent if the
MODRW instruction is sending a write command. The actual data from a read reply will be in
D1296-D1311.
8.
n
: Read/Write data length. For ELC-PB/PC/PA/PH series, if M1143=ON (RTU Mode),
n=K1~K16; when M1143=OFF (ASCII Mode), n=K1~K8. For ELC-PV series, n=K1~K16.
9.
n
: Read/Write data length. (ELCM-PH/PA)
When
S
2
(MODBUS function code) is specified as H05 which is the ELC force ON/OFF a
single bit,
n
= 0 indicates ON and
n
= 1 indicates OFF for the bit.
When
S
2
is specified as H02, H03, H0F, H10
n
designates the data length. The available
range will be
K1~Km
, where the value of
m
is specified according to the communication
modes and COM ports per the table below. (H02/H0F, indicates Bits. H03/H10, indicates
Words.)

10. There is no limit on the number of times this instruction can be used, however only one
instruction can be executed on the same COM port at a time.
11. Rising-edge contacts (LDP, ANDP, ORP) and falling-edge contacts (LDF, ANDF, ORF) can
not be used as conditions for the MODRW instruction, using Function Codes H02 or H03 or
the data stored in the receive registers will be incorrect.
12. The following bits need to be energized after the MODRW instruction is executed to send the
message: M1122(COM2) / M1312(COM1) / M1316(COM3).
13. Flags: M1120~M1131, M1140~M1143, refer to the RS (API 80) instruction or section 2.9 for
information.
Program Example 1: COM2(RS-485), Function Code H02
1.
Function code K2 (H02): read multiple bit addresses, up to 64 bits can be read.
2.
ELC1 / ELC2: (M1143 = OFF, ASCII mode), (M1143 = ON, RTU Mode)
