Gateway Configuration

Forum 5004/5008/5012 and Gateways

Manual Configuration

Manual configuration involves entering the MAC address of the gateways via
a search function or directly into an input field. Manual configuration can, for
example, be used for configuring multiple Forum 5004/5008/5012
communications systems on one company LAN.

1.

Configure the installation switch as is appropriate. Set the installation
switch to “0 - call server” for a hardware unit. For all additional hardware
units, set the installation switch to “1 - Gateway general” (see

Installation Switch

starting on page 42).

2.

Activate the power supply for the hardware units. When configuring for
the first time, you have to first establish the connection between a PC and
the call server of the Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system
and complete the initial installation (see

Brief Guide to Initial Configu-

starting on page 139).

3.

Start the Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system configu-
rator. Log yourself in and navigate to the

Configurator

:

Telephony

:

Gateways

page.

4.

Click on the desired gateway entry in the

No.

column of the table. Enter

the

Type

of the gateway and the

MAC address

of the hardware unit into

the dialogue. Click alternatively on the

Search

button and select one of

the entries found in the search results dialogue. Confirm the gateway
configuration with the

Apply

button.

5.

Repeat these steps to configure additional gateways.

The gateways are now configured and you can continue configuring the
Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system.
