First-time Commissioning

If you wish to operate an existing Forum 550/560 communications system
as a Forum Gateway 560, you have to update the existing system software
to release 9 or higher. The booter (“Bootloader”) is updated with the system
software. The booter version must be up-to-date for operation as a
Forum Gateway 560.

Note:

A 256 MByte CompactFlash card is required to update system
software.

After completing installation of the Forum 5004/5008/5012
communications system, configure the installed Forum Gateways 560 and
interface cards as well as the available ports. The following offers
configuration steps - the short version. Please consult the online help for
details on respective configuration steps.

1.

Start your Web browser. Enter the Forum 5004/5008/5012 IP address
in the “Address” box: http://192.168.99.254/.

Note:

The first-time access dialogue opens for first-time commis-
sioning. For security reasons you should set up a new adminis-
trator password in this dialogue!

2.

Go to the

Telephony

Gateways

menu. The status page provides

available configuration entries which you can assign to gateways as you
please.
