Generating Your Own MoH Files
The Forum 5004/5008/5012 comes with an internal MoH file for Music on
Hold. The Forum 5004/5008/5012 product CD contains a number of MoH
files with different volume levels, which you can load at a later time as
necessary. You can also load your own MoH into the communications system.
Audio files can be loaded as *.wav files or alternatively as*.mp3 files.
If you have a Windows operating system, you can use the “Sound Recorder”
programme to generate your own MoH file. This programme is usually located
in the Windows directory called “Multimedia”.
Note: If you don't have the Sound Recorder programme or the appro-
priate codec on your Windows operating system, you should
install these components from your Windows CD.
The MoH file must be coded with 8000 Hz, 8 bit mono in accordance with
CCITT, A-Law. This coding is required for the Forum 5004/5008/5012 and
can be set in the “Sound Recorder” when you save the file under
Format
(CCITT, A-Law) and Attributes (8000 Hz, 8 bit mono). *.mp3 files are loaded
using a Java application that encodes the file in an appropriate manner. The
maximum allowable size for a MoH file is 4687 KB (approx. 600 sec. play
time). The MoH capacity can be subdivided in a maximum of 5 files. These files
can be used for different companies or for internal and external calls.
Load your MoH file in the Web console's Configurator , in the System:
Components menu.
Note: If you use foreign audio files in an MoH file, please note the
manufacturer’s licensing agreements. You may have to pay
copyright-related fees for these audio files. The MoH files that
come with your Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications
system can be used free of charge.
KDA Manager
The KDA Manager is a program for converting audio files (e. g. welcoming
texts) from the *.wav format into formats which the communications system
can handle: *.711 (for single files) and *.kdp (for file archives). If a microphone
is connected to your PC, you can also record audio files in the KDA Manager
and directly save them in the suitable file format.
