LAN Port

The LAN port (Ethernet interface) on the Forum 550 Card main processor
central control module allows the integration of the Forum Gateway 560
into a company LAN (Local Area Network) with the use of a 10/100-Mbit
hub or switch.

The Ethernet interface supports transmission rates of 10 Mbits/s and
100 Mbits/s in half duplex or full duplex mode. The transmission rate and
mode are selected automatically (Auto Sensing function).

A LAN cable (twisted-pair in accordance with 10BaseT or 100BaseTX) must
not be longer than 100 m. Safe operation with 100 Mbits/s requires the use
of category 5 cables and sockets.
Use a shielded Ethernet cable (STP cable, Shielded Twisted Pair cable).
