Automatic Call Recording
The Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system enables calls
between internal users and external parties to be automatically recorded
(
Forum Auto Call Recording
feature). If the call distribution is configured
appropriately, call recording is enabled by default. Incoming and outgoing calls
that are routed via trunk lines can then be recorded. The function can be used
to log and archive consultations, for example.
Recorded calls are stored in the communications system cache as
audio files
and then exported to an external server as quickly as possible. A separate
server can be established for each company set up in the communications
system. With this set-up, call recordings can be handled separately even if
multiple companies use the available trunk lines. Call recordings are managed
by company and are not directly assigned to the individual internal users. This
means that internal users are not able to process (e.g. play or download) or
manipulate recordings.
Which calls/connections are recorded?
Only calls where a connection is established between
two
people – an
internal user and an external party – are recorded.
Connections to internal call numbers, to which
no natural
person has been
assigned, are not recorded. This includes connections to a voice portal or
voicebox, connections to internal group call numbers (e.g. hunt groups or ACD
groups) or connections to a conference room (audio conference connections).
Announcements that are played prior to the start of or during the connection
(e.g. “announcements prior to call acceptance” or announcements made by an
ACD system) and periods during which the connection is parked (e.g. on the
terminal of the internal user or in the call queue of an ACD system) are also
not recorded.
