Operating a Forum Gateway 560 via Router

Forum Gateway 560

Note:

The

Gateway

button has to appear on the welcome page. If

there is no

Gateway

button displayed, the booter version

installed is out of date. In this case, you have to install an
update for the booter (see

First-time Commissioning

Web interface of the booter: Gateway settings

Click on the

Gateway

button to configure the gateway operation mode

with statistical addresses. Enter the desired authorisation key:

–

IP Address

and

Subnet Mask

: Enter the IP address and net mask which

the Forum Gateway 560 is to use on the LAN.

–

Standard Gateway

: Enter the IP address of the router which is used to

reach the call server.

–

TFTP Server

: Enter the IP address of the Forum 5004/5008/5012

communications system.

Note:

Static address configuration is required for connecting a
Forum Gateway 560 via a router or if no configuration via
DHCP is possible.

Confirm your entries with

OK

. This formats the CompactFlash card and

then writes a configuration file onto the card. This process takes a few
seconds. Then the welcome page appears again. Click on the

Start system

button.

The Forum Gateway 560 starts. It uses the configured IP addresses to load
new firmware and the Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system
configuration. Then you can restore the original IP configuration of the PC (see
step 3 on page 82). Further Forum Gateway 560 configuration is done on the
web interface of the Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system (see

First-time Commissioning

starting on page 79).
