number and select the SIP system telephone type. Optionally enter the
MAC address and the IP address of the SIP system telephone (see

starting on page 173).

Note:

If you want to allocate the VoIP profile to a Forum IPhone 512 or
Forum IPhone 545 SIP system telephone, the

Voice Activity

Detection

option should be deactivated for all codecs.

settings, the programmable keys and the softkeys for the SIP system tele-
phone (see

SIP System Telephone Setup

starting on page 172).

Connect the SIP system telephone to your network and plug in the power
supply. Details about this can be found in the installation manual which is
provided with the Forum IPhone 512 / Forum IPhone 545 and the “Forum
IPhone 5010 / 5020 / 5025 / 5030 /5040” user guide.

If the SIP system telephone has the factory default configuration, it will
request an IP address configuration from the DHCP server of the
Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system. The IP address and the
location for loading files from the TFTP server of the Forum 5004/5008/
5012 is received as a part of the DHCP answer.

Now the SIP system telephone reads in the configuration files from the TFTP
server. This includes a generic configuration file and a device specific
configuration file for the given MAC address. During this process the
Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system transfers all settings and
by this it configures the system telephony features for the SIP system
telephone. If necessary, The firmware stored in the SIP system telephone as
well as the diverse language modules are updated also.

Note:

The configuration files are sent using an encrypted format (file
extension: *.tuz).
