Operational information

The Forum 550 Card 8 S0/T0 interface card can be exchanged during
operation. However, the slot must first be deactivated in the

Configurator

the web console (see

Installing Interface Cards

starting on page 97).

All three protocol layers can be individually configured as master or slave for
each S

interface.

The S

interfaces can be configured as DSS1-PP, DSS1-PMP or Q.SIG lines.

Forum 550 Card 8 digital extensions

Field of application

The Forum 550 Card 8 digital extensions interface card provides eight U

interfaces for connecting system telephones and Forum Base DECT v2 base
stations.

The Forum 550 Card 8 digital extensions interface card can be installed in any
of the slots (1 to 12) of a Forum Gateway 560 (see

Slots

starting on page 94).

Technical information

●

The Forum 550 Card 8 digital extensions interface card can – when oper-
ating multiple Forum Gateways 560 – be operated on any
Forum Gateway 560.

●

A maximum of 176 U

RFPs (Radio Fixed Parts, DECT base stations) can

be connected to the entire system. All U

RFPs operated on the system

have to be installed on the same Forum Gateway 560, or on the two
connected Forum Gateways 560.

●

In order to connect RFPs, U

ports 1+2, 3+4, 5+6 or 7+8 can be combined

by setting the DIP switches on the card accordingly.

●

The Forum 550 Card 8 digital extensions interface card runs on software
acquired from the system. After the card has been installed it will auto-
matically load the required software.
