DECT Network with three DECT areas (“Area 1” - “Area 4”)
DECT areas are only supported by current Forum Base DECT v2 type DECT
base stations. You can also use older Forum Base 500 type DECT base
stations, however, they can only be operated on the gateway 01 (at the call
server) configured first (in the example: “DECT Area 1”). All other DECT areas
require current Forum Base DECT v2 type DECT base stations (in the example:
“DECT Area 2”). Each additional Forum Gateway 560 means you can operate
a separate DECT area.
The DECT base stations of a DECT area are synchronised with one another via

lines. The signalling necessary for synchronisation cannot, however be
exchanged via the network connection between the Forum Gateways 560.
This lack of synchronisation means that calls principally cannot be handed
over (“Handover”) to a DECT base station from another DECT area. If you
want to operate a larger number of DECT base stations in a DECT area or at
one location, you can use 2 Forum Gateways 560 connected by a PCM-V line.
