Product Variants

Installation (Rack Version)

The hardware units are suitable for installation in earthed cabinets or 
housing. Lines and cables connected to the hardware units must only be laid 
inside buildings. 

Use shielded Ethernet cables only (STP cable, Shielded Twisted Pair cable) to 
connect the Rack Forum 5004/5008/5012 communications system to a 
local network (LAN, Local Area Network). 

The ambient temperature of the hardware units should not exceed 45°C. If 
the device is installed together with other active components, it may be 
necessary to mount additional ventilation fans in the installation cabinet. To 
ensure sufficient ventilation, the rubber pads underneath the hardware units 
may not be removed. 

All patch cables have to be connected before connecting the system to the 
power supply and so on. Installation of the hardware units, and in particular 
connection to the power supply and protective earthing, should only be 
performed by skilled, qualified personnel. EN, IEC regulations, along with 
other recognised technical rules regarding safety, must be observed.

Product Variants

Similarly to the wall version, the hardware units of the Rack Forum 5004/
5008/5012 communications system are available in various versions.

All product variants also have 2 LAN ports, 1 USB port as well as an 
installation switch. These ports as well as the installation switch and the 
status LEDs are on the front panel.
