Forum Gateway 560 Installation

Earthing and potential

For the purpose of potential equalisation, all conductive parts of a 
Forum Gateway 560 must be connected to the protective earth conductor 
(earth bus-bar of the building’s wiring system) by means of a solid or 
stranded wire of at least 2,5 mm

 (yellow/green).

Forum Gateway 560: Earthing arrangement

The metal screens of the subscriber and trunk cables must be connected to 
the circuit common in the distributor or the patch field. The protective earth 
conductor of the 230 V mains cables is connected to the circuit common and 
the telephone earth line.

All metal parts of a Forum Gateway 560 are mechanically and thus 
electrically coupled in order to provide protection through the protective 
earth conductor and the telephone earth line.

Notes on Installing a Forum Gateway 560

Do not allow any fluid to enter a Forum Gateway 560 as this may cause 
electric shocks or short circuits. 

Do not install a Forum Gateway 560 during a thunderstorm. Do not connect 
or disconnect any cables during a thunderstorm. 

A Forum Gateway 560 is designed for indoor use only. Route the cables in 
such a way that they cannot be stepped on or tripped over.

Modules of a Forum Gateway 560 must be securely screwed into the frame 
when installation work on the system is interrupted or terminated. Unused 
slots must be covered with dummy covers (included in the scope of delivery).
