Preparation procedure of span solution
Preparation of undiluted solution for nitrogen calibration
1.
Dry potassium nitrate (99
GR) at 105
C to 110
C for three hours. After drying,
slowly cool the potassium nitrate to room temperature in a desiccator.
2.
Pour approximately 900 mL of pure water into a measuring flask (capacity: 1000 mL).
3.
Measure the amount of cooled potassium nitrate listed in “
solution measurement values (total nitrogen)” (page 38) and dissolve it with pure
water in the measuring flask completely.
4.
Add pure water to make it a total of 1000 mL.
Preparation of undiluted solution for phosphorus calibration
1.
Dry potassium dihydrogenphosphate (99
GR) at 110
C for five hours. After drying,
slowly cool the potassium dihydrogenphosphate to a room temperature in a desiccator.
2.
Pour approximately 800 mL of pure water into a measuring flask (capacity: 1000 mL).
3.
Measure the amount of cooled potassium dihydrogenphosphate listed in “ List of
calibration solution measurement values (total phosphorus)” (page 38) and
dissolve it with pure water in the measuring flask completely.
4.
Add pure water to make it a total of 1000 mL.
Preparation of standard solution for nitrogen/phosphorus calibration
For ranges specified with values in the “total amount of undiluted solution” and
“amount of undiluted solution to be collected” columns in “List of calibration
solution measurement values (total nitrogen)” or “List of calibration solution
measurement values (total phosphorus)”
1.
Measure the undiluted solution for nitrogen calibration according to the value
specified in the “amount of undiluted solution to be collected” column in “ List of
calibration solution measurement values (total nitrogen)” (page 38) with a
volumetric pipette, and then pour it into a measuring flask (capacity: 1000 mL).
2.
Measure the undiluted solution for phosphorus calibration according to the value
specified in the “amount of undiluted solution to be collected” column in “ List of
calibration solution measurement values (total phosphorus)” (page 38) with a
volumetric pipette, and then pour it into a measuring flask (capacity: 1000 mL).
3.
Add pure water to make it a total of 1000 mL.
For ranges not specified with values in the “total amount of undiluted solution” and
“amount of undiluted solution to be collected” columns in “List of calibration
solution measurement values (total nitrogen)” or “List of calibration solution
measurement values (total phosphorus)”
1.
Measure potassium nitrate and potassium dihydrogenphosphate prepared in step
1. for “Preparation of undiluted solution for nitrogen calibration” or step 1. for
“Preparation of undiluted solution for phosphorus calibration” according to the
amount indicated in “
List of calibration solution measurement values (total
nitrogen)” (page 38) or “ List of calibration solution measurement values (total
phosphorus)” (page 38). Then, pour them into a measuring flask (capacity: 1000
mL) and dissolve them with pure water completely.
2.
Add pure water to make it a total of 1000 mL.
