13 Make sure that the sealing faces of the nozzle body (003, Figure 7-36 ) and nozzle
holder (004):
• Are clean and dry
• Are in a satisfactory condition
• Have no lubricant.
14 Put the nozzle body (003) together with the needle (001) in position on the nozzle holder
(004). Two 10 mm dowel pins in the nozzle holder give you the exact position.
15 Apply a thin layer of Never-Seez NSBT to the thread and seating face of the coupling
nut (002).
16 Attach the coupling nut (002) and the nozzle body (003) to the nozzle holder (004) with
your hand.
17 Refer to the formula shown in Figure 7-36 where:
• TS = the applicable torque setting for the torque spanner.
• TT = the specified torque setting for the coupling nut and locknut.
• D1 = the distance from the center of the square drive to the center of the hand
grip.
• D2 = the distance from the center of the square drive to the center of the adapter.
18 Use the torque spanner 94011A (012) and wrench extension 94022D-70 to torque the
coupling nut (002) to 175 Nm.
19 Use the torque spanner 94011A (012) and wrench extension 94022D-70 to add 30° to
the position of the coupling nut (002).
20 Apply a thin layer of Never-Seez NSBT to the thread and seating face of lock-nut (010).
21 Use the torque spanner 94011A (012) and wrench extension 94022D-55 to torque the
lock-nut (010) to 223 Nm.
22 Apply oil to tappet (005).
23 Put the tappet (005) and compression spring (006) into the nozzle holder (004).
24 Turn in the spring tensioner (007) until X = 48 mm.
25 Lock the spring tensioner (007) with the collar nut (008).
26 Do a function test of the injection valve, refer to 7.5.3 Conventional injection valve - do a
functional test .
