Lighting
In This Chapter
This chapter provides instructions for adding lighting effects to keys in Squeeze & Tease MD . These
lighting effects are based on a model that contains directional light and ambient light.
Directional light emits light in all directions, much like a light bulb. The amount of light on the image
decreases with the distance the light is from the image. It can be used to define sharp edges and
deepen shadows in your image, to give an appearance of depth. You can adjust the position and
intensity of the directional light to vary the appearance of your image.
Ambient light is used to set the lighting level for the entire image. It illuminates the image with a flat,
uniform light, like daylight in the real world. The lighting model enables you to control the level of
ambient light for different overall effects.
You can set the Luminance Thresholds for the maximum and minimum light levels to fine-tune your
lighting.
Lighting parameters can be individually set or a number of presets may be used to quickly create
lighting effects.
