Disassembling the connecting rod
•
Remove the heads.
•
Remove the cylinders and the pistons.
•
Remove the clutch.
•
Remove the flywheel.
•
Remove the timing system.
•
Remove the oil sump.
•
Loosen the coupling screws 'A' from
inside the crankcase and remove the
connecting rods 'B'.

Check the surfaces of the main journals; if they are scored or oval-shaped, reface them (observing the
undersized charts), and replace the flanges and the main journals.
The undersized scale of the main journals is the following 0.2 - 0.4 - 0.6 mm (0.0079 - 0.0157 - 0.0236
in)

Between the bearing and the connecting rod pin 0.022 - 0.064 mm (0.00087 - 0.00252 in)
CAUTION
WHEN RECONDITIONING THE CRANKSHAFT PINS, IT IS
NECESSARY TO MAKE SURE THAT THE UNION'S RADIUS
VALUE ON THE SHOULDERS IS:
2 - 2.5 mm (0.079 - 0.098 in) FOR THE CONNECTING ROD
PIN
3 - 3.2 mm (0.118 - 0.126 in) FOR THE MAIN BEARING
JOURNAL, FLYWHEEL SIDE
1.5 - 1.8 mm (0.059 - 0.071 in) FOR THE MAIN BEARING
JOURNAL, TIMING SYSTEM SIDE
