As for California EV 2001 taking into account that the dowel (1) is not mounted on the BBS wheels and
that the tightening torque indicative of the nipples is from 4 Nm (2.95 lbf ft) (minimum load) to 6 Nm
(4.42 lbf ft) (maximum load).
•
Remove the wheel
•
Remove the tire, the air chamber and
the nipple covers
•
Determine which wheel spokes (1)
need tightening
•
Operate on the nipple (2) to adjust the
tension of the concerned spoke (1); -
screw to tighten the spoke; - unscrew
to loosen the spoke;
The tightening torque indicative of the nipples is:
•
Front wheel 4.5 Nm (3.32 lb ft);
•
Rear wheel, right side nipples 4 Nm
(2.95 lbf ft), left side nipple 6 Nm (4.42
lbf ft);
•
Repeat the operations for all the
spokes proceeding in successive or-
der;
•
After adjusting the wheel spoke ten-
sion, proceed to verify the axial and
radial clearance of the wheel rim
WARNING
DO NOT ADJUST THE WHEEL SPOKES TENSION WITH
THE TIRE FITTED ON THE RIM BECAUSE IT MIGHT BREAK
THE NIPPLE COVERS AND CAUSE A PUNCTURE IN THE
INNER AIR CHAMBER
