Assembling the connecting rod

•

Place the connecting rods (B) on the

crankshaft.

•

Proceed with the refitting, remember-

ing that:

- The screws (A) fixing the connecting rods to the

crankshaft must be replaced with new ones at the

following refitting as they are subject to high loads

and stress;

- the fitting clearance between bearing and con-

necting rod pin is 0.022 mm (0.00087 inch) mini-

mum and 0.064 mm (0.00252 inch) maximum;

- the clearance between the shim washers of the

connecting rod and those of the crankshaft is 0.30

- 0.50 mm (0.0118 - 0.0197 in).

•

Lock the screws (A) on the caps with a

torque wrench at the prescribed tor-

que.

Installing the crankshaft

Carry out the disassembly operations in reverse order, remembering the following:

•

Place the crankshaft support flanges, taking into account the fitting order indicated by the

holes.

•

Apply Teflon tape on the two lower fixing screws at the back in order to prevent oil leaks.
