DRIVING WITH THE WRONG SPOKES TENSION G OR WITH ONE OR MORE BROKEN SPOKES
MAY DAMAGE THE WHEEL AND CAUSE RISKS TO THE VEHICLE SAFETY AND STABILITY.
ALWAYS COMPLY WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED LOAD

•
Rest the vehicle on its stand
CAUTION
TO ADJUST THE SPOKES TENSION IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE WHEEL
•
The locking of the wheel spoke has a
(voltage adjustment) nipple (2) inside
of which is screwed a (nipple locking)
dowel (1) that by "forcing" the wheel
spoke (3), stops the rotation of the nip-
ple (2).
NOTE
THE CORRECT TENSION OF THE WHEEL SPOKES (3)
DOES NOT EXCLUDE THE POSSIBILITY THAT SOME NIP-
PLES ARE UNLOCKED
•
Determine which wheel spokes (3)
need tightening
NOTE
THE FOLLOWING OPERATIONS REFER TO ONLY ONE
SPOKE
•
Loosen the dowel (1)
•
Operate on the nipple (2) to adjust the tension of the concerned spoke (3)
•
Screw to tighten the spoke (3)
•
Unscrew to loosen the spoke (3) - Tightening torque indicative of the nipple 3.5 Nm (2.58
lbf ft);
CAUTION
IF THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE NIPPLE (2) IS SUPPRESSED, LOOSE AGAIN THE DOWEL (1)
•
Without excessive force, tighten the dowel (1) - Tightening torque indicative of the dowel 3
Nm (2.21 lbf ft)
•
Repeat the operations for all the spokes proceeding in successive order
•
After adjusting the wheel spoke tension, proceed to verify the axial and radial clearance of
the wheel rim
IT IS IMPORTANT TO LOCK THE ROTATION OF ALL NIPPLES.
THE LOOSENING OF THE NIPPLE CHANGES THE WHEEL SPOKE VOLTAGE COMPROMISING
THE SAFETY OF THE WHEEL RIM AND THE STABILITY OF THE VEHICLE
