Memory Module Test
The memory module test performs a full pattern test on an
entire memory module. To run the memory module test, type
t 3/mem
[
modules
] [
threshold
] [
pattern
] and press Return.
When you type the memory module test command,
Use the
modules
parameter to specify which memory
module you want to test.
To test one memory module pair, specify the slot
number of the memory module pair that you want
to test. The default memory module slot number is 0.
To test all memory modules, specify an asterisk (*).
Replace the optional
threshold
parameter with the number
of single-bit errors the test allows before the test fails.
Replace the optional
pattern
parameter with a specific
pattern that you want to use in the test.
Memory module test error messages
There are two types of memory test error messages.
Parity error messages, which have the form ?TFL:3/mem
(PER, cause=
xxxxxxxx
, DBE=
yyyyyyyy
, Bank
n
,
side byte
)
?TFL 3/mem PER indicates that the memory test
reported a parity error.
The
cause
parameter is the value in the cause register.
The DBE parameter is the value at the data bus error
address.
The Bank parameter is the slot number of the memory
module that reported the error.
side
indicates which module in the pair reported the
error. If
side
is D16-31, the problem module is the one
farthest from the power supply. If
side
is D0-15, the
problem module is the one nearest the power supply.
byte
represents the byte in which the error occurred.
