System Unit Connectors
The system unit connectors, shown in Figure 1-4, have the
following purposes:
The power connector is where the system unit power cord is
inserted.
The monitor-to-system-unit connector is where the monitor
power cord is inserted.
The base system ThickWire Ethernet connector links the
system unit to an Ethernet network.
The base system SCSI connector connects the system
module’s SCSI controller to a chain of external drives.
The keyboard-mouse connector links the system unit to the
keyboard-mouse cable.
The communications connectors join serial line controllers
to devices such as printers, modems, and console terminals.
If the system includes a console terminal, the terminal
connects to the "Serial Line 3" communications connector
on the back of the system.
If an option module is installed, the connectors used to
attach interface cables to the external device will be seen
on the face plate of the option module which protrudes from
one of the three option module slots just above the bottom
row of connectors on the back. The option module number
is printed above each option module connector.
