How to Use the sdiag Test
The sdiag test runs the self-test for an individual SCSI device.
To run the SCSI send diagnostics test, type
t
slot_number
/scsi/sdiag
scsi_id
[
d
] [
u
] [
s
] and press Return.
When you type the SCSI send diagnostics command,
Replace
slot_number
with the slot number of the controller
for the SCSI device that you want to test.
Replace
scsi_id
with the SCSI ID of the device you want to
test. The default SCSI ID is 0.
Include the optional d and u parameters to perform the
operation that these parameters specify. The result of
specifying d and u depends on the type of drive that you are
testing.
Specify only the default power-up self-test unless you are
sure how the device responds.
Include the optional s parameter to suppress the error
message display.
The meaning of the sdiag test error message depends on the
specific device you are testing. For an explanation of an sdiag
test error message, refer to the service guide for the drive that
generated the error.
