How to install a memory module
1.
Look at the slot numbers printed beside the memory
module slots and find the unused slot with the lowest
number.
2.
Align the memory module connectors above the slot as
shown in Figure 5-15. Make sure that the notched end of
the memory module is farthest from the power supply.
3.
Lean the top of the memory module toward the front of the
system unit and place the memory module connectors into
the memory module slot.
4.
Tilt up the top of the memory module until the memory
module latches snap into place.
5.
Use the same procedure to replace any other memory
modules that you removed. Memory modules must be
installed in pairs.
6.
Replace the system unit cover.
7.
Turn on the system unit. Check the power-up self-test
results to make sure the system works properly. Run the
cnfg 3 test to verify that the memory is there.
8.
If the power-up self-test reports an error, refer to Chapter 4
to troubleshoot.
