2.8.12.5 Thermal motor protection

Function:

Thermal protection through calculation of I

2

Note:

The motor thermal state is saved when the inverter is switched off. The shutdown time is used to

calculate the thermal state the next time the inverter is switched on.

•

Self-cooling motors:

The tripping curves depend on the motor frequency.

•

Force-cooled motors:

Regardless of motor frequency, only the 50 Hz tripping curve needs to be observed.
