A custom VLSI microchip located on each port circuit pack. The SAKI provides
address recognition, buffering, and synchronization between the angel and the five
control time slots that make up the control channel. The SAKI also scans and
collects status information for the angel on its port circuit pack and, when polled,
transmits this information to the archangel.
