periods. PCS code groups are mapped by the XGXS to XGMII characters

Figure 2–122
shows an example of the mapping between XGMII
characters and the PCS code groups that are used in XAUI. The idle
characters are mapped to a pseudo-random sequence of /A/, /R/, and
/K/ code groups.
