Chapter 11 Real-time clock
11.1 The function of a real-time clock
The real-time clock has the following functions.
•
Holds a counter of years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds that can be counted up to 99
years.
•
Fixed cycle interrupt function (period: 0.5 seconds, 1 second, 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 month).
•
Alarm interrupt function (alarm clock: week, hour, minute).
•
1Hz pinout function
11.2 The structure of the real-time clock
A real-time clock consists of the following hardware.
