Cleaning the Control Panel, Touch Screen, Document Feeder and
Output Trays
Regular cleaning keeps the touch screen, control panel and other device areas free from dust and
dirt.
1. Use a soft, lint-free cloth, lightly dampened with water.
2. Wipe clean the entire area of the control panel, including the touch screen.
3. Wipe clean the document feeder, output trays, paper trays and other outside areas of your
device.
4. Remove any residue with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Storing Paper and Other Media
It is important for optimum printing that paper is stored correctly. Take note of the following when
storing media.
•
Store at ambient temperature. Damp paper may cause problems or poor image quality.
Note:
In most air conditioned offices the ambient (room) temperature and humidity is fairly
constant and is suitable for storing paper. If your office is very warm or humid it’s best to store
the paper in another area where it can be kept between 20-24.5°C at 35-55% relative
humidity. Paper that is not stored near the machine should be left in its’ wrapper by the device
to acclimatise for 1 hour before use (to reduce the chance of the paper curling when heated by
the device).
•
Do not open reams of paper until they are required for use. The ream wrapper contains an inner
lining that protects the paper from moisture.
•
Store on a flat surface to prevent the paper from folding or curling.
•
Stack reams of paper carefully on top of one another to avoid crushing the edges. Do not stack
more than five reams on top of each other.
Note:
For more information on paper storage see the Xerox website
www.xerox.com/printer-
supplies/paper
It is important for optimum printing that paper is stored and loaded correctly. Take note of the
following when loading media.
•
Do not use folded or wrinkled papers.
•
Do not load paper of varied sizes into the tray.
•
If feed problems occur, fan the media or shuffle labels before loading.
Note:
The tray capacities have been designed so that you can insert whole packets of paper.
Always load the complete ream rather than leaving some paper remaining in the opened
wrapper (as the opened paper left in the wrapper will pick up moisture from the air and become
more likely to cause jams when eventually used).
