Software and Firmware Updates

IP Telephone, MIPU, GIPU, LIPU and BIPU Firmware Update Procedures

Download Firmware Update Files

Download the appropriate firmware update files from Toshiba FYI.

To download software for MIPU/GIPU/LIPU and IP telephones go to:

FYI > Software (Strata Sys) > CIX

System Software

1. Determine the type of firmware update from the choices displayed.

2.

Select the firmware by clicking on the description, and follow the instructions.

3.

Save the file (it will have a .zip extension) to a folder on your PC.

Note The firmware files should not be renamed. Use these files “as is” when updating firmware.

Copy the IP Update Files to Network eManager Folders

The downloaded files must be copied to the correct SM/SD Card folder in Network eManager. To locate the
correct folder, you must know the MAC address of the CIX system you are upgrading.

To determine the MAC address

1. Connect to the CIX with Network eManager.

2.

Select

Utilities > MAC Address

3.

The MAC address will be displayed. Write down this number.

To copy the Update file

1. Click “My Computer”

2.

Select “Local Disk (C:)” or the drive that contains the Network eManager program.

3.

Select

eManager > UserData > Administrator

4.

Select the folder named for the MAC address of the CIX system (the MAC address will be written
without the “dot notation”).

5.

Select

SM/SD_CARD > PROGRAM

6.

Copy the downloaded update files to this PROGRAM folder.

Copy the IP Update Files to the SM/SD Media Card

The firmware update files must be copied to the SM/SD media card in the CIX.

1. Use Network eManager and select

Maintenance > SM/SD Card

.

2.

In the “Local Folder” section, use the drop down to select “PROGRAM”.

3.

Highlight the file to move to the SM/SD card.

4.

In the “CTX/CIX SM/SD Media Card Folder” section, use the drop down to select PROGRAM.

5.

Click the

Upload

button to move the files from the “Local Folder” to the “CTX/CIX SM/SD Media Card

Folder.”

6.

Now the files will be accessible by Network eManager for updating devices.
