· Switch the equipment off.
· In the case of electro-ophthalmia, immobilize the eyes with
a wide blindfold and transport the casualty to the eye hospital.
· Use UV lamps only in combination with the appropriate electronic ballasts.
· UV lamps and high-performance lamps in particular heat up excessively
and must therefore be operated with an effective cooling system.
· Wear UV-protection glasses when working while the lamp is on! The protection glasses
must be matched to the performance and wavelength of the light source used.
· Do not look into the lamp while it is on! Cover light exposure apparatus,
use light-tight covers (non-combustible) such as aluminium foil.
· Ozone-generating high-performance lamps must be operated in the
the extraction system or be fitted with an effective source extraction.
· Kitchen exhaust air cleaning by UV lamps.
· Defective lamps are classified as hazardous waste and should be
turned over to a competent waste treatment company for disposal.
· In the event of a failure, inform the responsible supervisor.

(risk of loss of sight) and may be irritating to the skin. Risk of skin burns.

Any work on electrical components/units may only be carried out

and must comply with applicable regulations. The contracting or operating company must
ensure that the electrical installations and the electrical equipment are operated and maintained
in compliance with applicable regulations.
Before commencing any work on the switch cabinet or electrical components/assemblies,

make sure that you separate the equipment from its power supply by means of a repair switch and
safeguard it against unintentional activation. External voltages should be taken into consideration!
You can find the current applicable circuit diagram inside the switch cabinet.
The warning signs are fixed in prominent location inside the hood.
