Troubleshooting for Duplex Communications Units
Section 10-5
stored in D00000 and the “node address of the disconnected node” in bits
0 to 5 is stored in D00001.
• The contents of D00000 are shifted 8 bits to the right to convert the node
address to a proper hexadecimal value.
• The hexadecimal node addresses stored in D00000 and D00001 are con-
verted to BCD.
Note When using the sample program as written above, be sure that the bits and
words in the sample program are not already being used by the program or
other Special Units.
10-5 Troubleshooting for Duplex Communications Units
Controller Link Units (CS1W-CLK12-V1 and CS1W-CLK52-V1) can be used
in duplex operation when they are mounted to a CS1D System. When using
Controller Link Units in duplex operation, if there is an error in the active Unit,
the standby Unit switches to active mode, and communications operations for
the node continue. The Unit with the error can also be replaced without turn-
ing OFF the power for the CS1D PLC (online replacement).
Note When an error occurs in the active Controller Link Unit and the standby Unit
changes to active mode, the node temporarily leaves the network before
rejoining it. For details on the time required to complete the switchover, refer
to 8-5 Switching Time for Duplex Units.
System Configuration Example
10-5-1 LED Indicators
The LED indicators on the active Controller Link Unit operate in the same way
as those for existing Units (i.e., without the “-V1” at the end). Refer to 3-1
Component Names and Functions. The operation of the LED indicators on the
standby Unit is given below.
