When the Controller Link Network is in normal duplex operation, the corre-
sponding Duplex Communications Unit Operating Flag (A02700 to A02715:
bits 00 to 15 correspond to the unit number) in the CS1D CPU Unit turns ON.
Operation when Error
Occurs If an error occurs in the active Controller Link Unit, the standby Controller Link
Unit switches to active mode and continues communications for that node.
• The standby Controller Link Unit will switch to active mode when the fol-
lowing errors occur in the active Controller Link Unit.
a) Error in the communications controller’s transmitter
b) Hardware error in the communications controller
c) EEPROM error
d) Watchdog timer error in the Controller Link Unit
e) Online replacement of an active Unit
Operation will not switch over if a disconnection due to a transmission path
error (e.g., cable or connector break) is detected. Transmission path dupli-
cation in token-ring mode allows communications operation to continue in
the event of a transmission path error.
If there is an active/standby switchover due to one the reasons above, a
duplex communications error is detected at the CPU Unit, and the corre-
sponding Duplex Communications Switched Flag (A43600 to A43615: bits
