Procedure for Using Duplex Units
Section 8-3
Note If I/O tables cannot be created, check the following items.
1) In the PLC Setup’s duplex settings, make the Communications
Unit duplex setting for the corresponding unit number. Also, after
transferring the PLC Setup settings, reset the CS1D’s power
supply to enable the settings.
2) Set the same unit number for the two Duplex Units.
3) Set the same node address for the two Duplex Units.
4) Use duplex-compatible Units (e.g., the CS1W-CLK12-V1 or
CS1W-CLK52-V1). The CS1W-CLK12 and CS1W-CLK52 can-
not be used in duplex operation.
5) Complete online replacement if the procedure has not been
completed.
6) If there is an error in the CPU Unit, remove the cause of the error.
7.
Perform wiring for the backup (24-V) power supply cable.
Note Use a backup power supply with duplex communications systems.
By providing a backup power supply, the node bypass circuits in the
Controller Link Unit will operate, and the influence on the network of
active/standby switchover and online replacement can be reduced to
a minimum.
8.
Turn OFF the power supply, and perform wiring for the fiber-optic cable.
When using an H-PCF cable, connect the two Duplex Controller Link Units
using either a CS1D-CN051 Connecting Cable or a standard H-PCF cable.
Duplex Unit Connecting Cable (H-PCF Cable)
Name: Duplex Unit Connecting Cable (H-PCF Cable)
Length: 50 cm
Model number: CS1D-CN051
Note If a GI cable is used to connect the Units, use a standard GI cable. Take note,
however, of the following points.
1.
Use a GI cable of length at least 50 cm.
