Note When the
key is pressed, the type and unit number of the Unit mounted
in the specified rack in the specified slot are displayed. For a Controller Link
Unit with a unit number of 0, “NS01” is displayed.

Turn OFF the backup power supply for the Controller Link Unit to be re-
placed.
5.
Remove the Unit together with its communications cable and backup pow-
er supply cable.
6.
Mount the new Controller Link Unit to the CS1D and connect the backup
power supply cable. (Do not turn the backup power supply ON at this
stage.)
7.
Set the unit number and node address for the new Controller Link Unit to
the same settings used for the replaced Unit. (Refer to SECTION 4 Prep-
arations for Communications.)
8.
Connect the communications cable. (Refer to SECTION 3 Installation and
Wiring.)
9.
Turn ON the backup power supply for the new Unit.
10. Indicate that online replacement is finished.
11. When not using Communications Units in duplex operation, if data links
are used and are not started up automatically, start up the data links using
the data link startup node.
12. If data links are restarted in the way described in step 11, confirm that the
data links are operating normally using Monitor Data Link Status in the
Controller Link Support Software.
