Locating and Correcting Cable Disconnections
Section 10-4
Note When only one node’s disconnected node information is stored, the data is
stored in bits 8 to 14 (disconnected node information #1).
Ring Status of Nodes 1, 3, 5, and 6
Note When only one node’s disconnected node information is stored, the data is
stored in bits 8 to 14 (disconnected node information #1).
10-4-3 Correction of Network Cable Disconnections
Cable disconnections must be corrected as soon as possible after they are
located with the disconnect detection and notification function.
The following list shows the most likely causes of disconnections based on
information gathered for OMRON’s earlier Optical Bus Networks.
1,2,3...
1.
The power supply is OFF in a node without a backup power supply.
2.
The node’s connector is not installed properly.
3.
The cable is faulty. (The end of the cable may be dirty or the cable may be
damaged.)
4.
The Controller Link Unit is faulty. (The surface of the receiving element may
be dirty or the receiver may be damaged.)
