Step 1. Remove the cover (see “Removing the compute node cover” on page 113).
Step 2. Remove the hard disk drives (see “Removing and installing drives” on page 164).
Step 3. Align the backplate with the hard disk drive cage and press the backplate into position.
Step 4. Close the release latch.
Step 5. Connect the power cable and signal cables to planar connectors or the RAID adapter.
Step 6. Slide the hard disk drive into the bay until it is firmly seated in the connector.
Step 7. For the 1.8-inch solid-state drives, lock the hard disk drive into place by closing the release lever.
