There are several places where text messages can be programmed to allow the relay to be customized for specific applica-
tions. One example is the Message Scratchpad. Use the following procedure to enter alphanumeric text messages.
For example: to enter the text, “Breaker #1”.
1.
Press the decimal point to enter text edit mode.
2.
Press the VALUE keys until the character 'B' appears; press the decimal key to advance the cursor to the next position.
3.
Repeat step 2 for the remaining characters: r,e,a,k,e,r, ,#,1.
4.
Press ENTER to store the text.
5.
If you have any problem, press HELP to view context sensitive help. Flash messages appear sequentially for several
seconds each. For the case of a text setting message, pressing HELP displays how to edit and store new values.
d) ACTIVATING THE RELAY
To change the
RELAY SETTINGS
: "Not Programmed" mode to "Programmed", proceed as follows:
1.
Press the MENU key until the
SETTINGS
header flashes momentarily and the
PRODUCT SETUP
message appears on the
display.
2.
Press the MESSAGE RIGHT key until the
SECURITY
message appears on the display.
3.
Press the MESSAGE DOWN key until the
INSTALLATION
message appears on the display.
4.
Press the MESSAGE RIGHT key until the
RELAY SETTINGS:
Not Programmed
message is displayed.
5.
After the
RELAY SETTINGS:
Not Programmed
message appears on the display, press the VALUE keys change the
selection to "Programmed".
6.
Press the ENTER key.
7.
When the "NEW SETTING HAS BEEN STORED" message appears, the relay is in "Programmed" state and the In
Service LED turns on.
e) ENTERING INITIAL PASSWORDS
The information in this section refers to password security. For information on how to set or change CyberSentry pass-
words, see the Settings > Product Setup > Security > CyberSentry section in the next chapter.
RELAY SETTINGS:
Not Programmed
When the relay is powered up, the Trouble LED is on, the In Service LED off, and this
message displayed, indicating the relay is in the "Not Programmed" state and is safe-
guarding (output relays blocked) against the installation of a relay whose settings have
not been entered. This message remains until the relay is explicitly put in the "Pro-
grammed" state.
