Side key hold
Preventing inadvertent operation of side keys
This function disables

and side keys [ ▲▼ ] while FOMA terminal is folded (including
while FOMA terminal is swung), thus avoiding accidental operations of the terminal, for
example, when carrying in a bag.

for 1 second or more on the stand-by display to cancel Side key hold.

Even in Side key hold, you can activate the Quick answer machine, stop a ring alert or stop the vibrator during reception.
Lock on close
Locking keypad each time FOMA terminal is folded
With Lock on close set "ON", all keys except the side keys [
▲▼
],

and
M
are locked when
FOMA terminal is folded. Even in Lock on close ON, incoming calls can be replied by normal
operations or the power can be turned OFF. Even with Lock on close ON, answering to
incoming calls and reactions to Location request issued are enabled.

Lock on close is not started when the FOMA terminal is in the following status:
- During a voice call or PushTalk session - While playing melody

- While playing music - While sending location by GPS
- During sounding of alarm clock, schedule reminder or timer (including during snoozing, counting down or in stop state)
- In infrared communications/iC transmission
- During updating software
*: When playing Album or playing from a setting screen, Lock on close is started after the playing completes.

Lock after phone close : Sets a period of time after which Lock on close is automatically started
when FOMA terminal is folded.
When Lock on close is started
Each time the FOMA terminal is folded, Lock on close on time set in Lock after phone close and locks the
keys except the side keys [
▲▼ ],

and
M
. Pressing side key [ ▲ ] does not operate Answer machine, Voice
memo or Movie memo.

To cancel Lock on close, open FOMA terminal and perform authentication. When the next screen appears
with no authentication operation performed, directly enter terminal security code or display an
authentication screen by pressing

or
s
.
To make an emergency call (110, 118 or 119) with Lock on close ON, enter the emergency
call number from a terminal security code entry screen, stand-by display or Lock on close
ON screen and press
n
.
■ When a fingerprint is registered
On the fingerprint authentication screen, enter the emergency call number and press
