Receiving and handling i-mode mail

When i-mode mail is received

Receive i-mode mail.
and
blink and "Receiving messages..."
is displayed.
Message ring alert sounds, the light is lit or
flashed and the reception result screen is
displayed.
The received i-mode mail is saved in a folder
of Inbox.

You can stop reception by pressing
g
but
depending on the condition at reception,
mail will be received.
・
If you do not press any keys for about 15
seconds after the reception result screen is
displayed or until the ring alert stops
sounding, the screen displayed before the
reception automatically reappears. To make
the screen reappear earlier, press
c
.

When the reception has failed:

" is indicated on the right side of "Mail"
on the reception result screen. To receive
again, perform i-mode inquiry.

The i-mode mail or MessageR/F stored in the i-mode
Center is received altogether when new i-mode mail
delivered.

Extremely large i-mode mail may be returned with an
error message to the sender without being accepted
in the i-mode Center.

An i-mode message of up to 100 Kbytes including
attachment files can be automatically received.
Attachment files exceeding 100 Kbytes can be
manually downloaded from i-mode Center.

When a file attached to i-mode mail is larger than the
receivable data size (attachable data size

attachment is deleted at the i-mode Center and
cannot be received. If the attachment has been
deleted, a message, [Attachment deleted] is inserted
in the message text.

in advance.

When i-mode mail is received, the ring alert, vibrator,
incoming light alert and light alert color operate
according to their priority levels set for i-mode mail
reception. When multiple mail and/or MessageR/F
are received at the same time, the terminal operates
depending on the conditions set for the mail or
MessageR/F received last.

In the cases given below, received i-mode mail is
stored in the i-mode Center:
- When the power is OFF
- During a videophone call
- Accessing Data Center
- During a PushTalk session
- In Self mode ON
- In Omakase Lock
- During FirstPass center connection
- When reception has failed
- Out of i-mode service area
- When receiving SMS
- When Receive option is "ON"
- Infrared communication/iC transmission
- When storage area is filled with mail unread or protected

When the memory is not enough or the maximum
number of saved items is reached, the oldest
received message other than unread messages is
deleted chronologically. In this case, a large number
of existing messages may be deleted depending on
the size of the received mail. Be sure to protect
received messages you want to keep.
・
If there is not enough storage space available
because storage is filled with unread and protected
mail, reception of i-mode mail is stopped,
and
is indicated on the screen. To receive messages,
changing unread message to read message (
→
P242),
displaying the contents of unread messages
(
→
P236), deleting unnecessary messages (
→
P242)
or releasing protection (
→
P242) is required.
・
If there are remaining i-mode mail in the i-mode
Center,
or
is indicated. Note that, sometimes
it is not indicated even when there is i-mode mail.
When the i-mode Center reaches the maximum
number of mail items that can be stored, the icon
changes to
