Voice call/Videophone call
Putting calls on hold <On hold>
Putting the call on hold during a call lets you talk to someone without the caller hearing your voice.

The caller is charged for time spent on hold.

During a call,

The call is put on hold, light flashes in green, and a melody is played. For a videophone call, the
videophone on-hold image is displayed on the phone of the other party and yourself.

To clear voice call on hold, press

To clear videophone call on hold, perform any of the following operations:

： Redisplays the image sent before entering the on hold state.

： Sends the camera image.

： Sends the substitute image.
Using speakerphone function
Calls can be made with the caller's voice heard from the speaker.

When a videophone call is made and connected, the call is automatically switched to use the
speakerphone function. To disable automatic switching, change the setting of Speakerphone in
Operation (Videophone settings).

for 1 second or more to make a videophone call using speakerphone function
when Speakerphone in Operation (Videophone settings) is set to "OFF".

While making calls/talking on the phone, you can switch the speakerphone function ON/OFF by
each pressing

is displayed at the top of the display during use of the speakerphone function.

The procedure is also the same when operating from the phonebook, redial, received call,
recorded message list or voice memo list.

When the call is switched to use the speakerphone function, the volume may suddenly increase. Use it with FOMA
terminal away from your ears.

Talk to the FOMA terminal within approximately 50 cm. If a call is hard to hear from the speaker due to loud noise
around you or the other party, turn the speakerphone function OFF.

Speakerphone function can also be used in Silent mode ON.

When a flat type earphone/microphone set with switch (optional) or In-Car Hands-Free Kit 01 (optional) is
connected, send/receive the voice using the connected device.
Switching between voice/videophone call
Call switching can be operated only from the terminal that has made the voice or videophone
call.

This function is available among the models which support switching between voice call and videophone
call.

The videophone calls and voice calls are charged individually depending on the respective time.

To switch the call, Notify switchable mode needs to be started by the other party. → P79
