Overseas Use
Preparing and checking for
using FOMA terminal overseas

This FOMA terminal is available only in 3G
service area.
I
FOMA terminal is set so that, when it is turned
ON overseas, an overseas telecommunications
carrier is automatically searched for and
connected.
I
Overseas usage fees are charged together with
your monthly usage fees. Depending on
overseas telecommunications carriers used,
overseas usage fees may be charged in a bill of
the next or subsequent month. Note that, in
addition, usages in the same charging period
may be charged in different months.

FOMA AC adapter 01 for Global Use (optional)
INFORMATION

Though FOMA AC adapter 01 for Global Use is
applicable to 100 to 240 V AC, the attached AC power
cable has a plug dedicated to 100 V AC (for domestic
use). When using the adapter overseas, a conversion
plug adapter applicable to a country you are going to
stay is necessary.

overseas travel.

Using i-mode
For displaying sites via i-mode overseas, set iMenu
→ "English" → "Options" → "International
Settings". For details, see "i-mode User's Manual".
Using network service
Before using network services overseas, Remote
control must be set to Activate. You are
recommended to set it before leaving Japan,
though it can also be set overseas.

To use Voice Mail or Call forwarding service
overseas, a subscription is necessary.

the back cover this manual.

Each inquiry number must be prefixed with
"Phone cords for Universal number" or
"International access number" of a country or
area you are staying.

Note that, in many cases, Universal numbers are
unavailable from mobile phones, pay phones or
hotels.
Confirming after returned to Japan
After you return to Japan, FOMA terminal is
automatically connected to FOMA network. When
manually switching a telecommunications carrier,
set FOMA network (DoCoMo) from Network search
mode.
Making a call from overseas
You can make voice and videophone calls from
overseas using international roaming service.

For videophone calls, the other party's image
displayed on your FOMA terminal may be
disturbed or call connection may be disabled for
a reason on the connected terminal.
