8 Product Administration
8.1 Product
Product
The instrument needs certain basic information to make
measurements. This information is contained in the product file. For
this reason, an appropriate product file must be selected or set up
before measurements can be made.
8.2 Setting up a new product
An appropriate Def.MA must already be present before a new
product can be set up.
Setting up a new
product How to set up a new product:
1. In the WinFTM main menu select “Product > New.”
The dialog window “Select an application” opens.
2. Shall the new product base on an existing measurement applica-
tion (MA) or on a new measurement application (MA)?
Existing MA:Continue with step 9.
New MA:Continue with step 3.
3. In the window “Select an application” click [New].
The window “Select a Def.MA” opens.
4. Select the Def.MA and click [OK].
The window “Input of the application name” opens.
5. In the field “Name” enter a name for the application or accept the
recommended name and click [OK].
The window “Select meas.dist.” opens.
6. Select the collimator (aperture) and click [OK].
The window “Input Calibr. Std. Set” opens.
7. In the window “Input Calibr. Std. Set” do not enter anything and
click [OK].
The window “End of calibration. Accept?” opens.
8. Click [Yes] and continue with step 10.
9. Select an application and click [OK].
The window “Create new product” opens.
10. In the field “Name” enter a name for the product or accept the rec-
ommended name.
11. Select the directory for saving the new product, if necessary, cre-
ate a new directory using the icon. Products that are already in the
directory will be displayed in the window.
12. Enter the desired number for the product
(a warning message appears if the number is already in use).
13. Click [OK].
