configure sharing address-based
For
“i”
series switches:
configure sharing address-based [L2 | L2_L3 | L2_L3_L4]
For ”
e
” series switches:
configure sharing address-based [ip-dest| ip-source| ip-source-dest
|mac-dest | mac-source | mac-source-dest]
Description
Configures the part of the packet examined by the switch when selecting the egress port for
transmitting load-sharing data.
Syntax Description
Default
N/A
Usage Guidelines
This feature is available using the address-based load-sharing algorithm only. The address-based
load-sharing algorithm uses addressing information to determine which physical port in the
load-sharing group to use for forwarding traffic out of the switch. Addressing information is based on
the packet protocol, as follows:
•
IP packets—Uses the source and destination MAC and IP address, and the TCP port number.
L2
Indicates that the switch should examine the MAC source and destination address.
NOTE: This option is only available on “i” series switches.
L2-L3
Indicates that the switch should examine the MAC and IP source and destination address.
NOTE: This option is only available on “i” series switches.
L2-L3-L4
Indicates that the switch should examine the MAC and IP address, and the UDP or TCP
well-know port number.
NOTE: This option is only available on “i” series switches.
ip-dest
Indicates that the switch should examine the IP destination address.
NOTE: This option is only available on “e” series switches.
ip-source
Indicates that the switch should examine the IP source address.
NOTE: This option is only available on “e” series switches.
ip-source-dest
Indicates that the switch should examine the IP source and destination addresses.
NOTE: This option is only available on “e” series switches.
mac-dest
Indicates that the switch should examine the MAC destination address.
NOTE: This option is only available on “e” series switches.
mac-source
Indicates that the switch should examine the MAC source address
NOTE: This option is only available on “e” series switches.
mac-source-dest
Indicates that the switch should examine the MAC source and destination addresses.
NOTE: This option is only available on “e” series switches.
