Optics alignment and notes on monochromator

・

Due to the continuous X-ray being cut by the monochromator, the rough
indication of the required number of absorber is approx. 2 to 3 pieces of Al 0.2
mm plate. If the intensity does not become within 2,000 to 100,000 cps by
adjusting the number of plates of absorber, adjust the intensity by voltage (kV)
of X-ray output. For example, if the X-ray intensity is too strong at 30 kV - 10
mA, decrease to 26 kV - 10 mA. The X-ray intensity will become approx. 1/14
when a single Al 0.2 mm plate is added.
Adjust the optical system according to the same procedure as “

Alignment (Required for Periodic Inspection or Installing X-Ray Tube)

except for the absorber.

The readjustment of HV/PHA is unnecessary.

・

For the 2θ real-time axis correction, perform the measurement of the standard
Si data according to the procedure in “

Data Measurement and Setting

Procedure for Real-Time 2 theta Axis Correction (Required for Initial Setup or
Periodic Inspection)

” again after installing the monochromator, and registers

the corrected data.
