LOYTEC
Version 6.2
LOYTEC electronics GmbH
Percent:
The given value is interpreted as a factor and shown in percent. The
value itself will normally be between 0 (0%) and 1 (100%), but other values are
of course possible and displayed accordingly (1.5 = 150%, -0.3 = -30%).
If the project is designed for LVIS-3ME devices and the option
Enable all settings
is
activated in the extended project settings, some additional styles become available, which
are currently not supported by LWEB clients:
Compact Short:
Useful to display large numbers. The value is shown in orders
of magnitude, using a configurable number of significant digits. A short locale
specific suffix indicating the magnitude is appended, for example
K
for 10
3
, or
M
for 10
6
. A value of 20513867 could be shown as
20.5M
Compact Long:
Similar to the short form above, but the magnitude is appended
in its long form, for example
thousand
or
million
.
Ordinal:
The value is displayed as an ordinal number, for example 4 could be
shown as
4th
, while 3 would be shown as
3rd
(assuming an English locale).
Spell-Out:
The value is written out in words.
Currency:
The value is shown with the currency symbol of the current locale.
Position of the currency symbol relative to the number, as well as any separators
are locale dependent as well.
Currency ISO:
Similar to the above, but instead of the currency symbol, the
three letter ISO code is used (
USD
instead of
$
).
Next to the style selector is a field to enter a desired
padding
of the output in pixels.
Padding is applied to the left side of the number, such that the specified minimum width is
reached. In case the output is already larger than specified, the width is extended to fit the
entire output.
Below the style selector is the selector for the
number system
to use. The default setting
uses the number system defined by the current locale, so that switching the locale will also
possibly change the way the number is displayed. However, for certain applications, it may
be desirable to set a fixed number system which does not change when the locale changes,
or is different from the default number system of the locale.
NOTE:
The default list of available number systems contains many decimal systems like Western,
Arabic, Devanagari, or Thai digits. If the project is designed for LVIS-3ME devices and the
option Enable all settings
is activated in the extended project settings, additional systems
like Roman, Hebrew, Chinese, or Japanese numerals become available. These systems are
algorithmic, and currently not supported by LWEB clients. Also note that some algorithmic
systems limit the ability to display certain values, for example, selecting Roman or Hebrew
numerals will restrict displayable values to integers only. If a selected number system is
unable to display the current value, the control may fall back to western decimal digits.
Also note that the selected font must provide the glyphs required to display values in the
desired number system. A western-only font will most likely not contain the required
characters to display a number in Thai digits or Japanese numerals. If the locale will be
changed during run time and the number system is taken from the locale (default setting), it
is important that the selected font provides glyphs for all expected languages.
Following the number system selector are the options to refine the output. Not all options
are applicable to all styles, so some of them may be unavailable depending on the selected
style. Always set the style first, before adjusting the options.
