tran sm ission in neutral position and the switch
pinned in neutral position attach switch rod to switch.
6. Tighten tran sm ission le v e r extension bolt to 12-16
ft. lbs. torque and rem ove pin.
7. Connect sw itch w irin g to engine w irin g harness and
in stall w irin g retaining clip bolt.
8. Check operation of switch and lo w e r veh icle.
B A CK IN G LAMP SWITCH REPLACEMENT
Switch Located on M ast Jacket
1. D isconnect w irin g at sw itch term in als.
2. R em ove sw itch attaching s c re w s and switch fro m
mast jacket.
3. P o sitio n replacem en t switch to m ast jacket, install
retaining screw s and connect w irin g to switch t e r ­
m inals.
NOTE: P o sitio n gea r shift in neutral b efore
assem blin g switch to m ast jacket.
4. Check operation of switch.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
A ll instrum ents and gauges a re installed in the instru­
ment clu ster. The en tire clu ster may be rem oved fro m
v e h ic le fo r s e rv ic in g of the instrum ents and gauges.
Illum inating and indicator lam ps may be replaced without
rem o vin g the clu ster fro m the v e h ic le . On m odels with a
lam inated die cut c ircu it the bulbs are in stalled in p lastic
holders which lock into the clu ster housing, on a ll other
m odels the lamp sockets a re clip retained and can be
quickly snapped in o r out o f position.
R egu lar maintenance is not requ ired on the instrument
clu ster o r its components other than maintaining clean,
tight e le c tr ic a l connections, replacing d efective parts and
keeping the speedom eter cable p ro p e rly lubricated.
SERVICE OPERATIONS
IG N IT IO N SWITCH REPLACEMENT
1. R aise hood and disconnect battery ground cable fro m
battery.
2. Rem ove lock cylin der by positioning switch in “ A C C ”
position and in sertin g w ire in sm a ll hole in cylinder
face. Push in on w ire to depress plunger and con­
tinue to turn key cou n ter-clockw ise until lock c y lin ­
d er can be rem oved.
3. Rem ove the m etal ignition switch nut.
4. P u ll the ignition switch out fro m under the dash and
rem ove the w irin g connector.
