WINDSHIELD WIPERS

Tw o separate m otors a re used to pow er the w ip ers on

T ilt Cab Tru cks, one sw itch con trollin g both. C overed

h ere  w ill  be  rem ova l  and  installation  of  the units  on  the
veh icle  only.  R ep air  of  w ip er  m otors,  etc.  w ill  be  found
in  Section  12,  E le c tric a l.  F igu re  113  is   an  exploded  view
of  the  le ft  hand  w ip er  assem bly  installation.  Right  hand

assem bly is identical; h ow ever it w ill be n ecessa ry to
rem ove heater assem bly b e fo re w iper m otor m ay be

serviced .

Removal

1.  Rem ove  p o sitive  cable  fro m   battery  term inal.
2.  Rem ove  nut  retaining  w ip er  onto  shaft.
3.  P u ll  arm ,  knurled  d r iv e r   and  rain  sh ield fro m   shaft.

4. Rem ove nut retaining shaft fe r r u le to body outer

panel; rem ove w ashers.

5. F rom inside veh icle, rem ove four s c rew s retaining

m otor assem bly to dash and rem ove assem bly fro m

veh icle.

Installation

In stall by fo llo w in g rem o va l procedu re in re v e r s e

o rd er. A fte r connecting battery, test operation o f w ip ers

thoroughly.

EMBLEM ASSEMBLY A N D FRONT

ACCESS PANEL

F igu re 114 illu s tra te s installation of both the em blem

and  access  panel.  The  panel  must  be  rem oved   to  gain
access  to  em blem   retaining  nuts.  The  panel  also  s e rv e s
as  the  a ir  inlet  g r ille   fo r   the  ventilating  system   and  is

fitted with a screen which should be checked p e rio d ic a lly

and cleaned i f n ecessa ry.
